Transparent Toaster
« on: December 10, 2007, 02:04:52 PM »
Wow! This toaster would look cool in any kitchen and has the obvious advantage of the user being able to see when the toast is ready to perfection.

OK, it's probably worth mentioning at this point that the transparent toaster concept doesn't actually work yet - while the prototypes might be able to gently warm a slice of bread, further research investment is needed to get the glass to heat up enough to actually toast it.

So the picture is really a slice of toast cooked in a conventional toaster and put between two panes of glass. Apparently the same people are working on cartons of milk that change colour when the milk goes off.

That's what I need! I can never tell when my toast is done with the toaster I've got at home.

As it doesn't work yet can we be sure it's not just a p*** take by Damien Hurst or some other Tracey, for some modern arty farty award?
