Mosley Blasts Stewart
« on: September 25, 2007, 04:42:03 PM »
Mad Max has finally gone completely over the edge. Max the Mouth is now going after one of the greatest people in the history of F1, Sir Jackie Stewart. In an interview with The Daily Mail, he said:

"There's one particular ex-driver who because he never stops talking, never has the chance to listen - so he doesn't know what's going on."

"It's annoying that some of the sponsors listen to him because he's won a few championships. But nobody else in Formula One does - not the teams, not the drivers. He's a figure of fun among drivers."

"He goes round dressed up as a 1930s music hall man. He's a certified halfwit."

Mosley, whose major achievement has been as runner-up in a Charlton Heston look-alike contest, is upset because JYS has question the McLaren verdict.

Stewart was almost single-handedly responsible for the safety standards that F1 enjoys today. Could anyone imagine a driver surviving a crash like Kubica had in Canada if Stewart hadn't pushed through reforms?

Mosley's main contribution to the sport has been to be Bernie's lapdog.

Somehow, I don't think Sir Jackie is the one who is "a figure of fun among drivers." Too many of then owe him their lives.

At last someone has said the truth about Jackie Stewart.

I read Max's comments and could not believe that even he would say something as stupid as that.  Jackie Stewart aside from his driving career and his safety work is the last person to successfully launch a new F1 team and has probably introduced more sponsors to F1 than anyone else.  He was in the business of cultivating sponsor relationships when the rest of F1 were glorified amateurs.  You only have to look at the portfolio of sponsors he has held on to since his driving career finished 34 years ago.  The reason sponsors listen to him is because he gives them good advice and value for money.

Max received a lot of credit for his actions after Senna's death but if he had kept his mouth shut and his eyes open in the years that preceeded it he would have seen Piquet hit that wall and he would have seen Berger hit it and burn live on television.  Berger's accident should have been the last possible moment for action.  Senna died because Max was not doing his job.  Had it not been for Jackie Stewart's actions Bernie would not have had a product that he could put on television on a Sunday lunchtime and Max would not have been able to make him a present of the rights to it for 100 years.

Strange thing is I can't find any evidence of Max slagging off JYS when he was making Mx's car look good.

I completely disagree with everything Max has said about Sir Jackie Stewart but whether it is right or wrong isn't the point.
The main thing here is yet again Mosley has used his position at the FIA to launch his own personal attacks on anyone that has ever questioned his actions.
The whole McLaren situation is due to Mosley's personal vendeta against Ron Dennis and now he is using the press to ridicule a racing legend because Jackie dares to stand up and question some of 'mad' Max's actions.

Max said JYS was a certified halfwit.  Does he have proof that he is certified?  Or going by the recent judgement presumably this falls into on of the other to categories that are enough to convict on.  Suspicion or Bernie told him.

Having read what Max said about Sir Jackie Stewart I can only say it has left me speechless.

Is he really going off his rocker? You don't say things like that about a nit wit.

You certainly don't say that about Stewart.

Max seems to have a remarkably short memory.

If there's one shameful thing Max has done in recent weeks, even more shameful than the way he twisted the whole Mc Laren affair, it's that outburst at Stewart.

What did they say about like father, like son!

It could be argued that calling someone a certified halfwit brings the sport into disrepute.  That will be $100 million please Max.
