Sir Jackie Says Webber is More Worthy
« on: November 13, 2010, 12:40:22 PM »
Sir Jackie Stewart says that Mark would be a more worthy Champion this season than Vettel. He says Vettel will have himself a WDC sometime, but Webber would be better for the sport right now.

"For me, to carry the dignity of the sport, to carry Formula One on a global basis, to carry motor sport as a whole around the world as Champion, Sebastian has some way to go to be able to do that."

I agree completely.

Exactly...there wouldn't be a better ambassador for F1 than Webber among the top three.  Let's hope he gives Vettel a surprise.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with this one. I obviously want to see Alonso win the title simply because he drives for the greatest F1 team ever. However I can't help but agree that a Webber win would do endless good for the sport. I don't know who too cheer for.........  ............ Yeah I do!!.........Come on Webblonso.

Everyone assumes that Vettel will have other chances at the WDC.

But is that true?

Kubica has been pegged as a future champion.  Kobayashi, Rosberg, Hulkenberg have all shown promise.  Even Petrov's game has grown over the season.

Alonso, Hamilton and Button have a few years left, and though Webber's career seems to be winding down, he could still be competitive for years.

There's no guarantee that RBR can be as good next year, or the year after... will Vettel have the same drive as RBR gets back to the top?

Or look at Massa... a horrible injury, and he's just not the same.  Things like that no one can predict:  you can't sit back and wait in this sport!

I'm like everyone else, I think Vettel has the talent for greatness... and yet I wouldn't be shocked to see him turn out anything but an also ran if he doesn't win this year.

After qually today, Alonso would seem to have the advantage. If he finishes 4th or better, only Webber can beat him, and he's already ahead of Mark.
